The Challenge

CRM and marketing automation platforms perform different but closely connected functions.

Sales teams work primarily inside CRM systems to manage prospects, customer information, activities, and opportunities. Marketing teams use platforms such as Mautic to manage contacts, segments, email assets, campaigns, and automated engagement.

When these systems operate independently, users frequently have to move between platforms to complete a single customer workflow.

A contact captured or updated in the CRM may need to be created separately in the marketing platform. Users may need to assign contacts to the correct segment, prepare email content, configure campaign activity, and confirm that information remains synchronized between both systems.

This creates repetitive administrative work and increases dependence on users understanding multiple platforms.

For this implementation, the requirement was not to replace Mautic or recreate its entire marketing automation engine.

The objective was to create an integration layer that allowed users to initiate relevant marketing operations from another connected CRM while Mautic continued to perform the underlying marketing automation functions.

The Solution

Digital Bevy developed a CRM-to-Mautic integration that connects customer-management workflows with marketing automation operations.

The solution allows users working within the connected business application to perform selected Mautic-related activities without requiring routine access to the Mautic interface.

Customer information can be synchronized with Mautic, contacts can be associated with appropriate segments, and marketing assets and campaign-related operations can be coordinated through the connected system.

The integration therefore acts as an operational bridge between CRM and marketing automation.

Instead of introducing another independent platform, the solution extends the value of the systems already in use by allowing them to participate in a more connected workflow.

What We Built

CRM-to-Mautic Connectivity

The integration establishes a communication layer between the CRM environment and Mautic.

This allows relevant customer and marketing operations initiated from the connected system to be translated into actions within Mautic.

Contact Synchronization

Customer information can be transferred from the connected CRM into Mautic without requiring users to manually recreate the same contact.

This helps maintain continuity between customer-management and marketing workflows.

Segment Management

Users can work with Mautic segmentation through the connected interface.

Contacts can be associated with selected segments so they enter the appropriate marketing audience or workflow.

Email Marketing Operations

The integration supports the creation and management of email-related marketing activities through the connected application.

This reduces the need for routine users to navigate between the CRM and Mautic for common campaign operations.

Campaign Operations

Campaign-related functionality can be initiated through the connected system while Mautic continues to provide the underlying marketing automation capabilities.

The goal is not to duplicate Mautic’s automation engine but to expose the functionality required by the surrounding business workflow.

Connected Customer Workflows

The integration creates a clearer relationship between CRM activity and marketing actions.

For example, a customer or lead managed inside the CRM can be synchronized with the marketing environment and associated with the appropriate marketing workflow without relying on repeated exports and imports.

API-Driven Integration

Communication between systems is handled programmatically so that data and actions can move between the applications according to the required workflow.

This creates a foundation that can be extended as additional CRM and marketing requirements emerge.

The Outcome

The integration reduces the operational separation between CRM and marketing automation.

Users can perform relevant customer and marketing activities from the business system where they already work, while Mautic continues to provide the specialized marketing automation capabilities behind those actions.

This reduces unnecessary platform switching and removes several manual steps associated with transferring customer information between independent systems.

More importantly, the project demonstrates a broader Digital Bevy integration principle:

Businesses do not always need to replace existing software to improve their technology environment.

When individual platforms already perform their specialized functions effectively, the better solution can be to build the integration and workflow layer that allows those platforms to operate together.

The CRM-to-Mautic implementation demonstrates how custom integration can extend existing technology investments while creating a more consistent workflow for the people using them.
